Our waiter immediately fetched the manager, and the manager was willing to have the kitchen prepare for us any dish that we had found unsatisfactory. When asked how the food was, I explained as gently as possible the many failings. What keeps Captain George's from last place was the service. Altogether, more than enough to rate this restaurant near the bottom of a very long list. I tried to make the best of it by eating as many crab legs as possible-but the diminutive crabs who'd donated made that a difficult task. My wife nibbled at a few items, couldn’t stomach most, and settled for a couple things from the dessert table. For example, we found two pieces of tuna in one, three pieces of salmon in the next, a few scraps of Mahi, cool broccoli, and on and on. Most pans were near empty, with food lukewarm at best, yet still overcooked. Our experience at Captain George’s buffet was not good. Why would you take a 2 year old to a $35 per plate restaurant anyway? Get them a happy meal & leave them with a sitter. There should be a section in this massive building to sit families with young children, away from adults who are trying to enjoy their over-priced meal and carry on a conversation without having their guests repeat themselves constantly due to ill-mannered children. This was just the topper to a meal spent listening to a 2 year old who did not know how to behave in public and parents who did nothing to control their child. He kept blaming the credit card company, and in no way tried to make it right. He refused to take any off the bill, or even offer a discount on a future meal. The manager was not sympathic, and only offered excuses & a half-hearted apology for the"inconvienence". The servers kept saying "it'll be a couple minutes". There was an issue with their credit card reader, which caused many patrons to sit for 30-45 minutes waiting for the staff to figure out what to do.
